3rd Place Winner at Tiffany Doodles Challenge

Hi everyone,
I won again at the Tiffany Doodles challenge. The card you see in the previous blog is the 3rd place winner! I do love winning! I don't know how the rest of you girls find time to blog during the summer. I can barely keep up with getting materials ready for my Copic Classes. We are off the the Lake of the Ozarks later this week. So, maybe I'll have a chance to make some cards to post then.

We are also remodeling (an ongoing thing) and my office/scrapbook room is on the schedule for tomorrow. That means no computer and no area to do anything for a few days.

So, I hope to talk to you all next week.

Home Sweet Home

Good morning everyone, I'm back! What a trip! New York was very interesting. I loved visiting, but would not be able to live in all that chaos. Wow! Me and my girlfriends were able to jump off the bus at one point and go to Saks Fifth Ave and we had just enough time to do a makeover with Laura Mercier Makeup. What fun that was. Those artists in NY really know their stuff. It was awesome to be able to see all the landmarks that I've heard about all my life- Time Square, Madison Sq Gardens, Rockafeller Center, Central Park, Ground Zero, Saks, Statue of Liberty .......I have over 700 pics to sort through. I'm not going to post 700 pics, but I picked 3 for you today.

Hailing from Toronto

Hey Everybody,
I didn't think I would have time to blog on my trip, but we are waiting on the bus to leave so......We're in Toronto. We have seen Niagara Falls (really beautiful). They are having a Summit here this week and the whole city is a mess. 15 Presidents or Countr leaders are coming in (including Obama) and we aren't able to tour the city at all. Oh well! Off to NY area today. It will take all day to get there though. Gotta go!

NewYork! New York! Here I come!

Good AM to all,
So I'm off to NewYork via Canada. We leave around 2:00. I'm very excited but also sad to leave my home (which includes my DH & my little baby April(poodle).

We got home last night and our A/C has gone belly up! No problem! It's only going to get to 95 today. What??? It's about 85 right now in the house. But the humidity outside is worse than in here, so........Hopefully it's getting fixed this afternoon. Isn't that the way it goes when you're leaving town.

I won't be on my blog for about 2 weeks, so please don't think I've stopped publishing. I'll be back. Hope everyone has a good rest of June.

Later!

Digi Stamp Images-Girls around the World

Hello Everyone. Today I am posting two cards I have done from the
website that I love. First up is Madison in the Mountains. I have to use this one really quickly or maybe I will save it for next winter. I did her in Copics and added some Blingy Stars to represent the beautiful clear night sky in the Mtns. I used Stardust and Baby Blue Glitter Glue for snow. The BG paper is some specialty paper I picked up who knows where. Kind of a animal skin themed thing.

This second one is Holly on the Beach from the same Digi Stamp line as above. I used a rubber stamp to do the BG trees and added some punched butterflies cause I didn't like that blank spot at the bottom. The paper is another piece from the animal prints line that I had around.

Thanks for stopping by and looking. I'm off to take a nap as I took some Daytime Sinus drugs and you know what they do to you.

PS. I tried a new recipe for a homemade granola that is awesome. You guys should try it out. Very healthy for you. But be prepared, it will move you. :) LOL

Catching up on my Scrapbooking

Hey Everybody,

I've been working so much on my card techniques, I let my scrapbooking get behind. I keep a running scrapbook for each year. I add to it as the year goes on. It has worked out so that I use 1 scrapbook per year of our life. I am in the middle of scrapping a trip we took last September to the UP-Upper Penninsula. It is really beautiful up there. I was so surprised by how much prettier the flowers are. I guess due to their mild and wetter climate. Here in Central Illinois everything get's so dry and dies out in late summer. Anyway, Here are a few pages. Each page is a 2 page matching spread, but I only took pics of one in some cases.

This first & second one are the start of this section in my SB for this trip.

In this one I used a little Flip Book insert to put some goodies my husband collected for me from the local woods up there. You could also use these to do a flip book of pictures when you have too many for one page and yet they all go together on that page.

I like to keep my pages more on the simple side. I've never understood doing one picture on a page and then adding tons of other elements. Yes, if you're going to frame it for the wall. But if I did my scrapbook that way, I wouldn't have many actually pictures in it. I'm all about pictures.

I started using my Cricut Cartridge "Camping" and it is really simple diecuts. Not much layering. I like that too.

I usually try to mimic something in my picture. In this one we were above all the trees. So, I simply used a branch.
