Suzanne Deans Online Copic Classes

Good evening, I wanted to post something for the weekend. I am taking the online Copics classes offered by Suzanne Dean on Scrapbitz.blogspot.com

If you are interested in Copics at all, I think her classes are worth the money. I skipped Class 1 and went right to Class 2 and have finished Lesson#3 so far. I am definitely learning to fine tune my techniques. Here are two cards I colored a week ago and just turned into cards. I'll post some this week showing progress.
The first one is a stamp by 'stampingbella' called Miranda the Teacup girl. Isn't she adorable!
This second on is another 'stampingbella' called Bessie Lulu. It's done in Prismacolor & Gamsol.
I can't wait for someone to get pregnant so I can use this stamp for them.
It's been raining here, but as of tomorrow it is supposed to head into the mid 70's for the rest of this week. Can't wait to go out and mow my lawn for the first time.
My hubby bought some Huge Pumpkin seeds and is going to try and grow the biggest pumpkin he can. He's got about 20 of our friends doing the same thing. It's unbelievable what all is involved in growing a 200+ pumpkin, but it will be fun. I'll post pics as the summer goes on. Have a great week in whatever you are doing!!!

Copic Certification

Hey,

I'm so excited. I was just accepted to get Copic Certified in St. Louis next month. I'm hoping it will open up new opportunities for me. I would really like to teach Copic Color techniques. If I can find the appropriate place, I just might do it.

Catch ya later.

Catchin Up

Hey everyone,

Sorry I've not posted in a week. Had a ton of stuff going on. Myself & 5 friends spent Sunday from 1-8 at Archivers (a scrapbook Superstore for those of you who don't have one in their area). I personally don't like dragging my stuff around. So, I stamped about 10 images on CS and took my tote full of Copic Markers & Prismacolor Pencils and spent my time coloring. That's what I like best anyway. I'm just now getting started turning them into cards. This is one of them. I have no idea who the Rubber Stamp is by. But this is one of my favorite techniques.

First, stamp & color image. Then using punches, punch out flowers and using a stylus and mousepad, shape them and dip into a tiny bit of glue and place on image. After they set, you can embellish them with Stickles (my fave) or little rhinestones. That's what I did to this one as it is all I had with me. I really like the 3D effect you get. All right, that's it for now.

My husband just caught us a mess of fresh Bluegill and we're going to fry them up. Yum!

Southern Lady

Good evening everyone,
Having a mildly relaxing Saturday. Everyone around here is still fighting sinus colds, so not a lot of energy. Not to mention it's raining. I did this card and I took about 10 pics of it and scanned it and it just doesn't do it justice. It's so much more vibrant in actuality. Oh well, it's what I've got for you. It's done in copics. This is one of my favorite stamps to do. I just love it and you can make it look so different by choosing different color combos. It's called "Sophisticated lady" by Stamps Happen Inc.

I'm Dreamin

I downloaded this freebie yesterday from the Dezenaworld website and thought I would enter it in their challenge.
I'm not as fond of cartoon style images as I am of more real life images. I thought this one was cute though. Our 17th Anniversary is next week. I might use this one for my card to my hubby. I can fill the inside with all kinds of mushy stuff. He never reads my blog so I feel safe in telling you that I am going to buy him a Keurig Coffee Machine. (I don't drink coffee but the thought of being able to make tea, cocoa and ice tea by the glass is really appealing to me).And who knows, I just might start drinking coffee with all the flavors they have available. And of all the things, I just got a 10% off coupon for Macy's where they are on sale. Yeh! Check ya'll later!

May Have a New Job

Hey all,

Hope you are good. I'm better (not better than you-I mean I'm FEELING better). Finally broke down and called the doctor for some meds. Cost $95.00 for sinus meds. Whatever!

I've been thinking this winter that I would love to work just maybe 2 days a week at a Scrapbook Store.
Yesterday I received an email from my favorite store saying they are looking for a few part timers to help out. YeeHaw! Today I spent some time putting together a little 'resume'-my style. I of course listed my past work experiences, but concentrated on the reasons why I'm perfect for doing this. I put in plenty of pics of my ORGANIZED workspace, my art and even my cake hobby. Have I ever shown you my cakes? I even figured out how to use my CRICUT before I heard that they were coming out with a Cricut Cake. Pretty smart huh? Anyway, hope I get the exact time slots I'm wishing for and that they decide to give me a try. I'll let you know.

Here are some pics of some cakes I've done this past year. TTYL
I used my Sweethearts Cartridge and my CDS and made two images flip flopped of each and then mounted them on a popsicle stick with foam dots between. That way the cake looked great front and back. I just love the way this one turned out.

I used my Cricut Paper Dolls Cartridge and made a template, put wax paper over it and then filled it all in using Color Flow.

It's obvious how I used my Cricut for this one.

I've got a Cold

Good Evening All, I haven't been feeling up to doing much. Finally caught my first sinus cold of the whole winter. Yuk! I feel terrible. I finished this card late Friday Night and then haven't done anything else. I'm busy keeping NyQuil's owners in new cars. I'm sure they have medical insurance too. We don't! Alright, enough whining. Here you go. This was done with Copics and a few highlights here and there with my Stardust Gelly Roll Pens from Sakura. They are my favorite go to pens for giving some shimmer and shine to my cards. I don't think you can see them in the scanned version. I like them way better than the Copic Spica Pens, but they have their uses too. I also embossed this with Momento Tux Blk ink and clear fine detail embossing powder. I like the look of the finished product when you do this. Okay, off to swig more NyQuil. See ya later on.

Computer Viruses

Hey Everybody, I thought today I would tell you about something that you might really find useful. I have DSL Hi Speed Internet but lately have been having lot's of problems with it locking up and getting slower and slower. I have anti virus software running and I thought blocking all the Trojans, Rogues,et from infecting my system. I was using Windows Live One Care Anti Virus Software.

Little did I know that not all Virus software is made the same. I finally called my IE provider because of the slowness that was driving me crazy. We spent 2 hours on the phone together. I learned a lot. First of all-my protection software was not really doing a good job. They told me about a FREE software program to download that they said really works. It's at www.superantispyware.com. I downloaded it, ran it and Whoa! I had 4 Trojans and 7 Rogue Viruses, not to mention 30 other problems. It tracked them and fixed them. I cannot believe what a difference it made. My computer is running at full speed and internet pages load lightning fast again. I am so impressed. So, I can really recommend that you check this Free software out. As for a Program that really protects your computer from getting these in the first place, my IE Provider suggested CA software which is what you find at Wal-Mart. They offered it to me for free since I am under contract with them for internet service. I feel like a new woman. Hope this helps some of you out there. I know that those viruses were doing something bad because I've been recently getting about 20 spam emails a day. I never had that problem until recently. They are easy to spot. However, I got one from a close friend and opened it only to discover it was not really from them. A virus in their system had stolen all their email contacts and was spreading the fun!!

Digi Stamp Images-Girls around the World

Hello Everyone. Today I am posting two cards I have done from the
website that I love. First up is Madison in the Mountains. I have to use this one really quickly or maybe I will save it for next winter. I did her in Copics and added some Blingy Stars to represent the beautiful clear night sky in the Mtns. I used Stardust and Baby Blue Glitter Glue for snow. The BG paper is some specialty paper I picked up who knows where. Kind of a animal skin themed thing.

This second one is Holly on the Beach from the same Digi Stamp line as above. I used a rubber stamp to do the BG trees and added some punched butterflies cause I didn't like that blank spot at the bottom. The paper is another piece from the animal prints line that I had around.

Thanks for stopping by and looking. I'm off to take a nap as I took some Daytime Sinus drugs and you know what they do to you.
